Many thanks for visiting my website! My name is James Biondi & I am a PhD Candidate (under the supervision of Professor Badredine Arfi) in the Department of Political Science (first field IR and second CP) at the University of Florida, Gainesville, USA. My main research concentration concerns both the political theories and empirical ramifications of post Cold-War Western military intervention. In particular, I am interested in the foreign policy behind intervention, the concept of the Responsibility to Protect (R2P), regime change, international security, human security & human rights, the Liberal International Order (LIO), and the epistemologies of liberal military intervention – with a particular emphasis on the Middle East & North Africa (which is my dissertation topic.) The main actors in my work include key elite decisionmakers among both states (UK, USA & France) and IGOs (UN & NATO). In addition to my research, I am an Instructor of Record of the Introduction to International Security undergraduate class at the University of Florida.
