Many thanks for visiting my website! My name is James Biondi, Ph.D. My main research concentration concerns both the political theories and empirical ramifications of post Cold-War Western military intervention. In particular, I am interested in the foreign policy behind intervention, the concept of the Responsibility to Protect (R2P), regime change, international security, human security & human rights, the Liberal International Order (LIO), and the epistemologies of liberal military intervention – with a particular emphasis on the Middle East & North Africa (which is my dissertation topic.) The main actors in my work include key elite decision-makers among both states (UK, USA & France) and IGOs (UN & NATO). In addition to my research, I am an Instructor of Record of the Introduction to International Security undergraduate class at the University of Florida.
